Though as i understand it means nothing as the DNG stores some kind of jpeg preview embedded in it. With 1- DxO Standard preset, PhotoLab tries to reproduce on raw pictures the default color rendering applied by camera maker on its camera JPEG files. DxO PureRAW 2 creates part-processed Linear DNG RAW files which programs like Lightroom can open and edit just like regular RAW files, but with DxO’s bespoke lens corrections and DeepPRIME noise reduction already applied. Opening the dng file on windows 10 photo viewer is slightly different from the PL jpeg output, but it is nowhere near as different as DT. There are no DxO optics modules for any of my camera/lens combinations. DxO PhotoLab will also accept DNG files created natively by supported cameras. According to the website: DxO PureRAW is not included in DxO PhotoLab, however DxO PhotoLab ELITE Edition offers all the features of DxO PureRAW: RAW demosaicing, Denoising, Optical Corrections, Export Features, and Comparison. DxO PhotoLab supports DNG format files, as long as they have been generated by Adobe Lightroom or Adobe DNG Converter, and as long as the original RAW format is also supported in the program. It is not only display, as it is roughly similar when exporting to jpeg on both side. I want to upgrade my DXO Elite 5 to Elite 6. But i must be missing something on which data is stored in DNG, or if this workflow is supposed to work at all, because the files look widely different in both software. So i was thinking, “cool, i can use both, and switch back and forth when i need to”.ĭxO photolab can export to DNG and i thought about applying some basic corrections, export to DNG, and fine tune in darktable. The exported DNGs are specialy prepared for Photoshop. That being said for now PL is much faster to use on my hardware for quick edit and sorting, and the denoising there is amazing. The DxO cannot open even own DNG files as is not a DNG converter. It has its strength, but i’m used to some very powerful features from DT, like the powerful masking capabilities, plus i’m used to filmic now.
